George Allen voted against proper body armor for our troops in Iraq. This is unforgiveable. I can't imagine the heartbreak of families who have lost loved ones who would have lived had the people who sent them to Iraq actually done their jobs.

Visit Vote Vets, and if you can, help them get their message across the country.

What is sad is that people are actually falling for this. This was a bill put out a week before the fall of Baghdad, at a time when the war appeared all but over. Why vote to spend so much money at a time when it would appear to be wasted? Senator Allen (and all the rest of the Republicans) were smart to wait because for all we knew, that was the end of the war.

And it could be worse. At least he voted for it then, more than can be said for John "voted-for-before-voted-against" Kerry, who failed when it really mattered. And correct me if I'm wrong, but more troops died after that then died between these two votes, correct?

How does any of that matter when it comes to properly equipping our troops?
